Since 2013, TWD has completed hundreds of utility projects for a major Distribution and Transmission company. With TWD’s support, our client delivers electricity to commercial, industrial, and residential customers throughout the City of Edmonton. This critical infrastructure provides electricity distribution and transmission services to help power people’s lives and connect communities to the power they need.

From concept to construction, our electrical engineering services have been instrumental in various projects. The implementation of a lifecycle pole replacement program, addressing approximately 100+ poles annually, underscores our commitment to structural integrity and safety. We have successfully managed asset replacements, including transformers, cables, and switching cubicles, ensuring the efficiency and longevity of the electrical systems. The design expertise extends to underground power distribution systems, encompassing cable and duct sizing, duct-bank design, vault design, transformer replacements, and cable pull specifications. Overhead Line Design, involving non-linear loading analysis and detailed drawings, has further optimized our power delivery systems. Through effective liaison and coordination with diverse stakeholders, including property owners, utilities, rail companies, and regulatory bodies, we navigated permit applications and third-party joint-use processes seamlessly. Our comprehensive support extends to on and off-site construction, culminating in a project that not only meets but exceeds safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.
